About to order an sxe turbo for my lb7 truck. Trying to decide on what to go with and all the Ar stuff gets me lost other than the smaller the number the tighter the housing.

I'm between a sxe364.5 and a sxe366.

I think I want a .9 housing?

Truck is a otherwise stock lb7, will have 30%s and a trans with converter to be selected based on turbo.

Truck will be daily driven/ tow/ used as a truck.

I have a S371 which is way bigger/laggier/older than the S369sxe, and I daily drive, tow, etc, just fine. I therefore also second the S369sxe! A good trans shop should be able to set you up with a converter that works well with it. Throw a trans tune on to take maximum advantage of your new higher redline (and get consistent lockup) and you're golden!

If you want something more similar to stock, a S366sxe might be your best bet. You wouldn't even need a higher-stall converter for a S366sxe based on how my brother's billet S366 drove.

The 369sxe spools as fast as the regular 366. Plus it flows a ton and can make some serious power. So another vote for that. Actually a 400 if they're available yet. 300 frames are sketchy.

I recommend Evans converter. It's amazing to say the least.

Basically the a higher AR will move your powerband up.

Why the 369 over the others? Power or?

Spools as fast or faster than the old s366's and it flows more than an s472 iirc.

Theres a big thread on CompD discussing the sxe turbos and the 369 seems to be the most popular choice for street truck/DD's

I have a buddy with a cast 366 with an hsp S300 kit on his lb7. I love how his acts so I'd be happy with spool like his.

Are there different turbine options?

The sxe 369 spools faster then my double bat did but for towing I need to get a tab shifter installed, to keep the Rpms over 1900 to stay on top of it. Also running 100 overs and 10mm.

I do have a tap shifter. but will be stock engine and way less fuel.

Is there turbine size differences in the 369? If so which do I need? Also .9 ar?

could have sworn HTT has a .83 T4 housing. Might want to give them a call. Ask for Jacob. I'd go that route, but that turbo really should have the .91 T4 on it.

The turbo I bought comes minus an exhaust housing.. Just a super core..

Trying to decide on which ar for best driveability.. I might go tighter if there is an option to. I want it to run pretty clean down low and not cover up intersections leaving lights.
