More than likely because the MAF sensor was not reading with the tube off the truck. Put everything back on and clear the code and it should not come back.

Heres what ya need to do:
Go get a spray on tan, throw on an A-shirt (wife beater) thats 2 sizes too small and grab a ratty pair of jeans and cut the legs off at the crotch and throw the newly made short shorts on...
Now go down to the Red Light District of the nearest metropolis and stand on a corner and pretend to tie your shoes every so often, bent over with straight legs
