The real question is who would let someone that use the phrase "Now this could have been a fluke" build their transmission?
I know lol but im just asking if reputable guys have done this or are developing a way to do so or is this just a fluke haha

Mike might chime in... my understanding was that a redesign of the VB was required to allow lockup control in 1st gear but that was a few years ago...
I thought that could only be done to the 6spd ones?

my understanding as well... i have seen under certain circumstances a 5 speed was locked up in 2nd then was manually shifted into 1st with the converter still locked

The only way a better shift in the Alli can be achieved is with TCM programming. That in itself is limited because of the clutch on clutch design. So far no one has been able to do this. duramax tuner sells his version that likes

Tuners that sell TCM tunes just found another way of getting a couple of hundred dollars out of you. EFI does not support these tunes.

So many exclamation marks!!! It must be a big deal!!!! 
I was dumb and bought into that 2 years ago when I had my old truck. I'll be pulling that trans shortly to check it out. Good thing I have a spare trans because I'm pretty sure by the way it shifted that those are going to be twisted.

What do you mean by this? Efi, as in efi live? Don't support as in they don't think changing it is a good idea, or not supported as in you can't change a certain parameter?
Paint, what circumstances need to be made to have a 1st gear lock on a 5 speed? I have heard that it is hydraulically impossible. So a hard part was modified in Mr.!!!!!!!!!!'s trans.
