Im new to the diesel game, i have a bone st9ck 05 with 215k miles. I keep getting the p2563 code. Looking to just throw a new turbo in it. Is it best to just get a stock turbo, or can i get an upgraded one even though i dont have a tuner or anything?

Whats your plans with the truck? What is it used for? With no other modifications i think a stock replacement would be the best bet.
Its just my weekend cruiser, take it dirt biking and on trips. Im looking to get a tuner, would like a little more hp and milage but otherwise keep it how it is

You can make more power with this turbo than your stock trans will hold.
In an ideal world a stock turbo/injector/cp3 Duramax with a built trans can make just north of 500hp to the tire reliably. If that is a good power number for you a quality OE reman would be a good option. I can get you squared away with everything you need.
