Been doing lots of research and going to be taking on a task of building a duramax suburban
Picked up a loaded 2500 suburban 2002
Have a lb7 trans and a spare built trans to be going in
Also have a 11.5 aam to swap in

Here's the question I know duraburb they now can keep the auto 4x4 feature I am just wondering bc the truck I have is a 8.1 4l80 and I believe a 246 case 32 spline output same as the allison as far as I can tell.

Now will the 246 bolt up to the allison or how do they go about doing this I know I can change out the electronic shift for the truck 3 button shift and 263 case but just seeing if I could possible use the 246 with the auto case.

I'm not sure if they will bolt up but if I remember correctly the 246 doesn't have a direct 4x4 mechanical link. Meaning the front driveshaft is engaged through a clutch only. So if you plan on some hard 4x4 launches I would question how much the clutches can hold.
