my gmc 3500 has been at the shop for 7 weeks. I changed trans spin on filter and drained pan. What? 7 quarts added back. pulled RV to oklahoma. 1 week later got in truck to head home. Put it in Drive, nothing. display told me to place in N to reset. I did but nothing. I added 1 quart of trans fluid and made the 806 mile trip to Mobile with no trouble. Back home I have had odd problems. Sticks in 1 gear. Shifts really hard, does not respond to shifting, and I can put truck in neutral. Crank and shift into gear and goes with no issues. Purchased used TCM. Took to the shop it is still sitting at. Shop had a Chevy mechanic come by and program replacement TCM. Now truck just shifts really hard. My problem, but I need my truck back. any experience with my issue? Thanks

Not uncommon for hard shifts directly after swapping the TCM. Ask if they can use a scan tool to do a "relearn" on the TCM and see how it acts. If not setting any trouble codes or strange msg on the dash, relearn is likely all it requires.
