SoCal valve springs

Should the factory "washer/spring seat" stay on the head when installing the new SoCal lower spring seats? The SoCal seats have a center bore that fits over the factory washer.... Or should the factory washer be removed?

So does the new SoCal seat go on top of the factory washer seat or should the factory washer be omitted?
The new SoCal seat fits nicely over the factory rolled lip which is what prompted this question. Otherwise the new seat fits rather loose around the valve guide.
