i have moved back to SLC, UT and the turbo lag is obviously horrible, and with a stock trans still, is going to a Variable bigger stage one going to make it worse? i assume the best way around this is going with twins, which i want but my stock trans wont hold, i guess i should stop thinking anything boost wise before i do the trans right???

i prob just answered my own question:(:(:(

If your running a stock turbo and having lag problems, you either have sticking vanes, or a tuning problem.

I ran twins for a couple years before I got a built trans... Not ideal but it was fine for me.
Your 6 speed will hold more power than my 5 speed will but as James and Iowa mentioned you shouldn't be having spool up issues with a stock turbo. Some of the most impressive trucks I have ever tuned are the LMM's with just minor bolt ons and stock trans.
