I'm fixin to cover up Rick's manifolds and up-pipes with Levi's blankets. I had them coated but I got to cut down some heat since the back two cylinders are in the cab with me. Thanks to Brett for posting my pics. A friend of mine has My Wagler valve covers to try to paint some old school fins on them. A lot of folks on this forum have helped me a lot and I thank them for it. Maybe I'll get it going before too long and can make a pass or two before the dragstrips close around here.

What coating are you going with, I was going to do Jet Hot but, went with Levi's blankets instead. This is going to be a slick build. Rick and Levi's together makes that turbo "SCREAM". I am a huge fan of the wheel selection and color of the the truck looks great!

thanks. My powdercoater used a ceramic that looks like the original color on a stock manifold. I've used it before and it holds up very well. The color is brighter than the original 69 color.

First of all, build looks awesome.:thumb: Secondly, if you're after finned valved covers, I had a guy waterjet some 5/8" thick valve covers for the Dmax in my street rod then I milled fins into them. Came out just like old school finned covers. Kind of makes it look like a flathead though.

Yours was an lb7 correct??

He could do some valve covers like kidturbo did on the boat engines too.

I was going to ball mill some grooves, but I had them powder coated twice, still didn't like them. My friend does great work, but he's been really busy and hasn't got to them yet. I'm going to need them soon, my inner fenders are going to be ready next week and I wanted to put them on next week. I'm putting Dynamat everywhere I can, but this stuff is heavy and I'm trying to keep the weight down.

Thanks to Brett for posting a few pics. We bled the brakes today and found a leak, so we got to make another line because the flare wouldn't seal. This stainless is mean. I hope to start it in a day or two, and put the bed on after we get the leak fixed. I want it to look like this Duramax came in it from the factory, and interior and exterior close to original but it's tough to do. Thanks guys.

A couple of questions, is that a Scott's Hot Rods front IFS and how far did you did you set back the engine? Was setting the engine back so you had more room for the cooling stack or was the Allison 6 speed going to cause major cutting anyway?
