Just trying to get some input on what everyone thinks. There has been so much arguing this year on the rules and im trying to decide what to do next year. With ITPA dropping 2.8 and a few others, i see 2.8 being gone by 2012. Im thinking im going to pull 2.6 next year, i really dont like jumping down, but i see 2.6 becoming the old 2.8, and im not going open driveline... just yet. Our 2.6 here is clipped on protruded, no duals, no water to air intercooler, which doesnt really go along with others. Im ok with the protruded, but i plan on going water to air, so im really up in the air on what to do, i dont feel like having 2 high dollar turbos next year either. Anybody hear if the big ITPA 2.8 guys are dropping or going up?

I've heard of a few of the cotpa (OH) guys going up to ODL 3.0 from 2.6 but I've not heard much about 2. ITPA guys. Unless they already have the motor to go 3.0, I'd say most will drop down. Makes sense to me that they would anyways. Otherwise you either just gotta be in it for fun or have BIG $$$ to go play against Scheid and Haisley and that bunch week in and week out.

There's talks of some new 3.0 trucks getting built in KY but as of now, there's only 1 3.0 ODL truck in KY so all the old 2.8 trucks had already dropped down to 2.6 just so they could make hooks. They laid waste to most of the regular 2.6 guys too because of ridiculous turbo rules that allowed pretty much a WASHER to be used as a "bushing" so they still had their gigantic chargers with more than an inch between the the bushing and the face of the comp. wheel. It was maybe a 50hp reduction for them. LOL

Having protrusion might bring the power down a little for next year. We'll see.

I'm starting to take interest in the restrictors Weston (smokem) over on CompD is looking into. He's a doozy of a fella and sure seems to know, or think he knows, a lot. It's interesting to see how some more testing turns out on those restrictors. If the changes for 2011 (protrusion chargers) don't tame things down like the organizations want, I'd say there stands a reasonable chance of seeing a restrictor tube class in 2012. That's PURE SPECULATION on my part and haven't ever heard mention of it from any representatives from any organizations. We'll see what pans out.

BOB around here is allowing hood stacks and air to water. I'm not crazy about hood stacks in 2.6 but it doesn't really matter since it makes no diff. in power. That was why they went on ahead and allowed them this year. I, myself, will be running A2W as well. ;)

I'd say stay 2.6 and have some fun. You know how to set up a truck and you will compete well. You have to be ready to go full on when you enter open driveline. I watched the Never Let it Rest Ford get built this year and it was an eye opener for me. I'm staying 2.6 in Ohio because that is the class and if I can come close to the big money boys with my rag, I'll be happy.

And now that the 2.6 rules in IN, OH and KY are basically the same, we can go have some fun in any direction. Game on. Watch out Mitch.

I'm not sure if NADM is adopting them this year, but OH, IN, and KY all have.

Gene said he'll watch how things go in OH, IN, and KY for a year and if things work out with the turbo rule then NADM will consider adopting the rules. Except hoodstacks he's been pretty clear about that

Im not worried about NADM, if he doesnt want hoodstacks in 2.6 then he shouldnt have dropped 2.8. I have my fun and TS, and Scheids anyways. Im hoping theres somerule changeds for both of them at in 2.6, especially if they drop 2.8 also. I would like to see them allow fuel cells, i know a lot of 2.8 guys run them, and that would just be a pita to put the stock fuel tank back in. I kind of wish they would decide what classes there going to have now.
