Rivian R1T Electric Pickup

Anybody else hear of this electric pickup truck?

I think it looks ugly but the specs seem pretty good. Four 147kw motors driving each wheel for an AWD setup. 14k Nm and 800 HP. Depending on battery 400+ mile range.

11k lbs towing, 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, 125 mph top speed.

Apparently it cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-100 thousand (after tax credits?). Even if I could afford it I think I would wait for at least the third generation. I like where they are going with it though

Yes, it seems to be what the future will be. it has a 0 to 60 in 3.0 seconds. I wonder if it has a tranny or is like the Tesla?

Probably closer to direct drive or something like a fixed gear reduction

I highly doubt it is loaded. Probably less then 100 miles loaded to its max

Would be nice to have some power before the turbo spools for daily driving. Only problem would be launching. I wonder if they could provide enough power to the front wheels.
