Would they fit the Dmax? Those are monster flow numbers, above 400 cfm "as cast".

I wonder what Mercury Racing has uo their sleeve? I mean you know they didn't design these for us hot rodders. They must have a nice marine LS package coming out soon.

Wow what do you think the valve cover would look like if they were to build twin overhead cam heads like this for the Duramax???
Like Mark said flow is where it's at. It would be awesom to have heads that would flow like these. So far our only choices are Wagler or CNC porting we need more.

They are certainly a break through. A nomad at sema was sporting a set of these. As cast form they are already up with the best cfm already available. Once someone throws some porting at them I can't imagine the kind of power they'll be capable of. Like mark said a single s480 charger might make 1100 hp now at 24 psi but with them heads it'll be made at 12-15 psi. Not to mention the ability to maintain rpms in excess of 7500 and make the power up there also. Pretty awesome to say the least

You are correct Mike, if anyone here knows anything about the powerboat world there is nothing cheap. Mercury racing Has some big power motors and big price tags!
That is the truth. I am into high performance boating and know exactly how true that is.

Mercury's 1350 package with the m8 drive is a tad over $200k, per side.

Did you two forget what hobby are we all a part of? Like ANYTHING Duramax diesel-related is inexpensive?

Tom, mercurys 1350hp motor is 250k. DMAX hottrodding is cheap compared to offshore racing.

Oh....we're talking something that millionaires think is "expensive". :roflmao:

Yep, pretty much out of my lifetime price range unless I won the Lotto (not likely).

I think you guys are dreaming as far as how much power these heads will make on a diesel. Won't happen.
Look at what's out there right now. Except for a better throttle response off the line, 4 valves per head don't mean shit. The gas world has not shown DOHC's setting the world on fire. Diesels don't live at 8K rpm. Why not install a flat crank and see what happens to a diesel. These heads will produce monster HP and no TQ.

^ yeah. I think they would be awesome on a GAS motor. They would make good power, more than what we have now. The idle quality would be tons better at that power as well.
