My buddy just inherited a PPE Xcelerator with a truck he just bought. I was wondering could I load it on my truck too or is it truck specific? I have EFI Live but wanted to load the PPE up just out of pure curiosity to see how much of a difference there is.

You don't want to do that, trust me. Just keep the EFI live... When i had my Xcelerator it would limp my stock trans every time i got on it hard. I guarantee your EFI tuning is muchoo better.

Ya I would put it right back. I just never had any other tune besides my efi live so i wanted to see the difference if it was free to do.

back in the day when EFI came out m wasn't there a lot of people stacking tuners together? I seem to remember this back in like 2006-2008 time frame:confused:

You would need to flash n a stock tune file to be safe. You will be surprised by PPE tuning, it's great, the main problem with it was no switchable tuning...

I like mine. Only run a 90hp tune all the time. Very little smoke. Eventually it will be efi for myself.

It will only work for your buddy unless he loads his stock tune back and unlocks it from his vin. Then you could play with it. If you need instructions i can add picks from my owners manual.

I ran PPE tunes on my old lb7 and they were good tunes. My buddy ran the 225 tune on his lbz fairly hard for 3 years before he limped the trans.. In my opinion the smoke output on the PPE tunes was pretty clean compared to the EFI live i have had.
