Oil at trans housing

Just got a new convertor a week ago. Today I notice small bit of oil, which was not there yesterday. Oil coming out of trans housing. It is oil and not trans fluid.

Enging also has a slight tick/tap in this area. Like between oil pan and housing at the joint.

What could be leaking oil through the housing? Is is the rear main seal leaking through?

I'd say ream main seal is going out. But if it's making noise there also it kinda sounds like the converter isn't sitting all the way in the notches like it's supposed to be. That's the first place I'd look anyways.

its most likly the rear main but it could be the pan. i know mine leaks very little from the pan it really depends on how much is leaking

Not much. I wiped it away from housing Friday. It hasnt come back. Im wondering if this is causing the "weird" vibration that no one can figure out.???

the convertor was probably just overfilled and some puked out after it was started
