Looking to put something in the truck for monitoring engine vitals.

My main ones would be:

Egt
Boost
Regen on/off
Distance till regen

Searching the web i come up with what I think are the three best options.

IDASH
EDGE CTS
TORQUE PRO app with Bluetooth dongle
(I have an andriod phone)

I will be trying the torque pro app this weekend and will report back my thoughts. And which dongle I use.

Anyone else who has one of these or something else, please post up your thoughts and what works/doesn't.

Thanks.

If you get a CTS get a CTS2 not a 3. The 3 was absolute garbage! I don’t know if the 2 had regen stuff on it though as I never looked for it.

I like my idash, I don't know if they have distance till regen but you could command a stationary regen and it would give you DPF soot load in %.

The idash is pretty good for what you want. the torque pro app seems to have a slow refresh rate but i never got too deep into it to see if it could be adjusted.

I personally really like my iDash 1.8 units. I'm not the biggest fan of Banks and their tactics but the iDash 1.8 is a product that actually does what it claims and does it very well.

The Idash has been an excellent purchase and I'm completely happy with everything it is able to monitor.

But, I am not a fan of the window mount and being in Canada it would cost me over 200 dollars to get one of those pods that mounts to the side window defrost vent.

So I ordered a 3d printer and set out to design and build my own pod, I'm a pillar pod fan so naturally my design is based onto the pillar. I plan to use the pillar handle lower bolt for mounting and keeping modifying the original truck parts to a minimum and also not blocking my defrost vent.

Here's a pic of my initial mock up and placement.

My final design is printing as I type this and I will update tonight when it's done.

First real prototype come off the printer last night.

Very close to the final product but needs a few tweaks for mount hole placement, mount pad size so it sits flush, and also I want to angle the gauge out a little more just so it faces the driver better.
