It's sulfur that they put in the recreational grade nitrous isn't it? Regardless, the "sniffers" don't pick up the nitrous, they pick up the added gas instead. The combat to that is to use medical grade nitrous because it doesn't have the added gas like recreational grade nitrous. ;)

So since the diesel is burned up the second it is injected why does it put off an Oder?

Diesel if a fuel... nitrous is a substitute for more oxygen. I could see that depending on what is mixed into it, there *could* be an odor. But from what I understand, there isn't...

There are people running nos around my area and the pulling club had thought about getting something like a sniffer . Actually me and a few friends offered donations to them if they do buy one . I am not worried about them beating us I have dealt with this since I started pulling 5and a half years ago . The nos guys still aren't winning much but it makes it even harder for a guy just getting into the sport that wants to play fair .

Does anyone know where to find one of these on the web .

Yeah I aggree that tech has a lot to do with it. But there are some sneaky m"""""f""""""ers out there . The problem is one of the people they had teching last year was one of the ones running it. Granted he was getting his butt stomped on a regular basis by stock turboed dmaxes but thats not the point .

The air we breathe is 20.95% Oxygen, 78.08% Nitrogen, along with a few other gasses.
Nitrous oxide is 33% Oxygen and 67% Nitrogen.
N2O is just a oxidizer. I would think if a snifer existed or was even possible, it would be at every race track in the nation.
