Newbie to zf-6 question

I've found a nice lly zf truck. Looks great descent miles, only down side is the owner says fourth is making a noise. So how much would this cost to fix, say worst case?

What kind of noise? Running down the road or putting it into gear?

Driving down the road. Said it goes in fine.

He also said it was a clicking noise.

I bought my zf-6 with 170k and it was going in 5th fine but jumping out. ended up being a roll pin in the shifting fork but replaced the entire 5th gear assembly and it wasn't horrible. few hundred for parts and a few hundred more for labor. if you can get it caught early you're probably better off before it tears anything else up in there.
