New guy to the board and new to Diesel as well.
Have had a number of Chevy gassers. Last trip pulling my enclosed motorcycle trailer through Arkansas the constant trans down shifts and poor fuel mpg may have caused the shift to the Duramax.
Found a 2007 classic crew cab. One drive and I was sold on the towing.
Made the mistake of finding this place and started reading.
Well the truck was stock (123K miles) but has been in transit getting a few changes done. Truck is in the shop getting the following installed.
Line-X for the box AND the trim line down on the body and bumpers,
Leveling kit, Bilstein 5100s, new down pipe, AFE stage 2 free air, 4" turbo back, Transgo JR, Rough Country traction bars, driver side exhaust manifold, 285/75-16s, Mag-Hytec deep pan, Mag-Hytec diff cover, LED lights front and rear, Dura-mileage tuner.
I've a lot to learn on this diesel stuff.
Can't wait to get it back together. I think it'll be a great toy hauler for sure.
This looks to be a good board, as a machinist and motorcycle shop owner, I hope to be an addition to the site.
