I have had an issue with the right bedside. About 10 years ago my father in-law caved in the right side of the bed. I got the truck soon after and had it repaired. About 5 years ago I noticed some blemishes in the paint and above the flare some rust. Took it back to the body shop and he said he wouldn't fix it because of time. Took it for estimates and few shops would touch the rust and the ones who would quote me almost 1900 dollars and the is low ball because they think it's rust causing the blemishes. So, it may create metal replacement once they tear into it plus removing my line X. Mine is a 2002 2500 HD. I wondered if it would be cheaper to replace the bed. here is the issue trying to find a bed for that year locally. I can find 2004 and up for under 300 but will my taillights work on it or will I have to use the newer taillights Also is there a difference between a 1500 and a 2500 HD beds

No difference between 1500 and 2500 beds. Yes your taillights will work
