I have a 2005 lly that needed head gaskets and i ended up finding a bad piston and a broken head bolt i plan on ditching this block and piston and buying a junkyard motor the question i have is are all the lower ends the same from year to year or will i need to find another lly block for sure.... i had heard that running lbz rods and the older pistons was a way to make it stronger.. so I'm just wondering what the best way to go is I'm kinda on a budget but i don't wanna cut serious corners if anyone has done anything like this ur help would be greatly appreciated

I'm kinda in the same boat. I've heard lml rods and pistons are the best and you can get the pistons for $33. Someone else might know for sure.
