I searched all over and couldn't find any pictures of hidden hitches in long boxes. I decided to just dive in and build mine. I used 1/4 inch plate I put in the break at work to make the sides to bolt to the frame. I wanted to be able to tie into the side of the frame as well as the bottom to keep the bottom flange of the frame from ever tearing down. the cross piece is 3x3 1/4 wall square tube. I also built my own receiver tube. We get it at work in 10 ft lengths and its made for receiving 2 inch ball mounts. Gussets/safety chain mounts are made out of 3/8 flat. I had to notch the spare tire cross member a little but I did not want to have to remove it like the short boxes. Just throwing this out there for anyone with a long box like me.

That's a nice hitch, beautiful welds too!:thumb:

Now all you need is a hitch insert with your license plate mounted to it for quick removal to pull something.

thanks guys. I'm a fabricator by trade so this was pretty simple to me. I'm fortunate to have access to tools most do not. I guess I never took a picture with it installed with bolts. It gets 3 5/8 bolts in each bottom flange and 2 1/2 inch bolts in each vertical flange.
