I am very new to tuning and am trying to learn how to tune for the sole purpose of messing with my 08 LMM as well as some of my buddies duramaxs. I am 16 and just trying to figure out a couple of things within the tune file ( I use EFI Live) such as hard cut limiters and other various fueling and boost tables. If someone who is well versed with the LMMs as far as tuning goes could maybe call me for 30 mins or so and walk me through some things, I would be very appreciative and be more than willing to compensate you for your time. I've kinda been a little lost about where to go to for help with some of this stuff, other then the HPA academy course that I did. if someone could respond or dm me that would be great!!

thanks in advance,

Sawyer

Probably hard to find someone to walk you through everything. But in the interest of keeping helpful information available. Do you have a specific table you have a question with? (I’m not going to discuss hard limiter or emissions related)

Hard cut limiters = pure stupidity.

Now that that's out of the way, have you looked into some of the other tuning courses/reference materials that are out there? Starlite sells a tuning guide for pre-emissions vehicles that you could apply the same concepts to your LMM.

In addition to the good advice above, there's a lot of good info and some tunes right here on the forum. You don't want to flash any random tune directly into your truck, but you can compare them to stock and get an idea of what changes are needed.

Welcome to the forum!!
A good starting point is to use your Internet search engine of choice and search what you're after. Next would be to search on the forum.

Feel free to send me a PM if you need to or want talk, I'm more than happy to go over what little tuning knowledge I have.

As Brad has said, messing with hard limiters isn't the best idea.
