Hey guys. Im wanting to change tire size on my lly truck. Back story is the original ecm crapped out the turbo vane position circuit. So I tried to pur another used ecm on it. Bricked that ecm. Bought a new/used ecm from a gm tech that ended up with it from the dealer. Bricked it also. So sent them to socal to get fixed and tune loaded. So im not sure whats wrong with the truck or what I did wrong so many times but im skeptical about trying through the obd again.

I have the harness from benchforce and o think all the stuff needed to do it. But would like to talk with someone that has done it that way before I do. I could call bench force. And I may do that. But wanted to see if anyone here had aome advice first.

Thanks!

Did you ever pull hvac and radio fuses when trying to flash them in the truck?

I’ve used bench force numerous times and never had an issue

I pulled all the normal fuses like when your doing a box tune. Hvac im not 100% sure about that one. Did you use the bench force outside the truck? I just want to make sure I have the correct cable (which im pretty sure it is.) And I think there's a switch on mine for resistor or the other direction is no resistor.

In it and out of it. Just disconnected it from the factory harness and plug in the bench force. You use without the resistor

I have yet to brick an ECM both in truck and via benchforce. It sure seems like the issue may be on your end but I don't know what setting would cause it.

I've bench flashed countless 01-05 ECMs, well north of 100.

I have tuned numerous lb7/lly also. Never had any issues except for 1 other lb7 that was a wrecked truck. Turned out that OS was junk and we determined it was the issue. This specific truck has gremlins due to some backwoods repairs before me. Which is why im leaning towards the bench harness.
