Im actually very glad i tore it apart! Here is what i found

I put them in a pail of carb cleaner last night to clean them up
pulled off the fuel rail fitting and thought that was the biggest restriction
Boy was I wrong:eek: Now im not sure how much difference if any there is in the lb7 fuel rails but this is from a 2001

the piece on the left is a orfice that sits inside 25000th of a inch orfice
very friken small!

For those of you that dont know this is part of the FPRV on a lb7 the fuel lines are just low pressure line....I will remove these and run a T and plug off the place the the FPRV is

I think its there to control surging from the CP3, but don't quote me on it. I noticed a difference when I drilled it out.

When I took mine out to inspect I saw no debris. When I drilled them and reinstalled it ran its ass off. I'm still not sure why.

I also wondered if opening the holes in the fuel junction block (just a little) would make a difference or not. I do have a spare. :D

I just don't want to do it to much and have it explode. :eek:

Would you have to be careful as to not make it to big.

Like water in a funnel.

as fast as you can get it in it from the larger side it will still come out as a steady stream.

but if you flip it over and feed from the small end it will only accept so much which will not allow to fill the large void, causing a "trickle".

Basically what I'm trying to say if we open the lines up closer to the injectors will it hurt flow? Or should we do this closer to the CP3? Or do this at all?

Did that make sense?

I now dont see the point,if we have all this fuel to the rail and then restrict it down at the rail? What it the point of the PPE fuel rail inlet?


Duel cp3s as far as I know dont have a orfice as you just pull the plug out of the back of the rail and run a line into it and they dont surge

I suppose so Simon if there is a seperate orfice restriction downstream from it.

iirc a couple guys from ohio ported out there lb7 fuel rails....They said it threw CRAAZY fuel to the stock injectors with dual cp3's....They also had a custom gt42. Well they ended up throwing a stock rod threw the block in less then a mile:) On edit i dont know the rail pressure or pulse width they were running but they said that it smoked like a Train even when the 42 was fully lit
