Friend of mine is looking at a 2003 LB7 with 165k on the clock. Injectors have been replaced, owner proof with shop records.
I went with him to look at it, since I've come to know a good deal about the Duramax after owning mine for a while. I noticed it had a lope/surge at idle, which immediately made me think bad FPR. He plans to get the truck tomorrow afternoon, and I will also have access to a scan tool that can read the rail pressure. Question is, if it is for sure a bad FPR, will the rail pressure PSI reading fluctuate/jump up and down on the scan tool? I'm almost 99% that's what it is, but want to know how to check for sure with a scan tool.
Other than that, I drove the truck, runs/drives great! No blow by, has full power, no MIL, solid truck. I think he'll like it!
