Just curious on metal in pan

I dropped my pan today, I have no idea if it's been done before. Truck has 226000 miles, shifts fine on a 60 tune, higher tunes it shifts funny but doesn't limp. Am sure it would on the 120 tho, I've done it. Don't go there anymore. Are these pieces of metal clutch material or is it from the hard parts in the trans. Just getting a idea when it gets rebuilt if I need the extra money for additional hard parts. The pieces are hard metal. What should I expect when it's disassembled.uploadfromtaptalk1466896967638.jpguploadfromtaptalk1466897017637.jpg

I wonder if the convertor could throw pieces like this. Where do guys in minnesota get built trans? I better not do this one myself.

Truck drives just fine, so you guys are telling me even with over 200,000 miles there wouldn't be any metal. Maybe the picture makes it look worse then it is. I find it hard to believe with this many miles that this wouldn't be a normal amount of material to be found.uploadfromtaptalk1466917203465.jpg

Thanks mike, the shifts are better with the new fluid. As far as I know its all factory. It's been abused, but it's been babied for the last year.

My LLY had random parts like than in the pan for a few changes, at 210k and a new motor I drove the truck to get the trans built. Either get it built soon or see how much longer it'll run.

Has any one actually had a trans built in mn, I had the guy in Zimmerman load korys tunes on my truck and he was a really nice guy, it was last minute and he helped me same day. it's just nice to hear about people that actually have there trans built by them or someone else in mn or surrounding states. It's a bunch of money which is whatever but it has to last forever. I know I can trust mike because of his feedback and really it probably isn't much more to go that route. But I do think it's the right thing to contribute locally. The problem is I don't see people actually running local trans builds.

I've neve been to the place. There are a few local members on this forum and a few locals on duramax forum that recommend Jags. There's even a few not so local that say they do good work. That's how I've heard of Jags is from these forums. I don't know if Mike L ever heard of Jags, but if your unsure I'm sure Mike can steer you to someone closer to MN than his shop that he would recommend.
