Our small town put on an amazing firework show last night. I love that they do it on the 3rd, then it gives us a whole 'nother night to drink beer and put on our amateur firework show 🎆 It's super dry here in Colorado though so gotta play it safe. We have three water trucks/sprayers on standby.

HAPPY 250 AMERICA!

As much as I hate the politics, the costs in this state of California, you can't beat our weather. It is going to be 75-80 degrees today and about 40-50 humidity. Happy 4th of July everyone.

It is nice, but when I live close to the coast and the months have nicknames like June gloom and May Gray. The weather might be nice, but when the sun doesn’t come out till 3 o’clock in the afternoon, I’ll take my hundred degree weather a few months out of the year in the south.

Well, this was our yearly vacation to my daughter‘s taekwondo nationals. It was Florida again this year we split between our normal AAU nationals and ISKA world martial arts championship.
For AAU we really thought this would be her year for gold, but she got silver instead. She did amazing. We’re a little upset about the electronic gear they use for points this year. Whether or not it would’ve made a difference if she won I don’t know, but she definitely lost out on some points.
ISKA is part of the Adidas circuit and is relatively new. There’s not a lot of support/competitions yet but due to some politics at the AAU we have a feeling it’s gonna grow very rapidly. It was much less formal and has mix of all martial arts fighting styles. We managed to take home gold on it. The fighting is a lot less technique and a lot more aggressive. It was also pretty awesome that it was at the Disney convention center so while I would never ever go to Disney Land staying at the resort is awesome. Here’s a video of that fight. I haven’t edited the ones from AAU yet. My daughter‘s in Red.

We also did the NASA thing and I was able to see my very first rocket launch, which was pretty awesome at night from the top of a bridge.
The downside’s been my son. He’s did really awesome the first few days of the trip. Then we spent the day at the waterpark and he has not been the same since we don’t know if it was just that much stress, chlorine exposure, or just all the changes finally catching up to him. He been bad the last week almost. One of us is pretty much had to sit in the hotel room with him ever since. We can’t even take him to a restaurant to sit down and eat currently. We were due to head back to Texas tomorrow. We were going to take the long way back and pretty much use the rest of the week to do some sightseeing. I’m not sure now though we might just drive straight through.
