My passenger side injector is shot +-6 at idle and a few are border line so I got a Bosch reman set from Brent at lds.

I'm throwing them in this weekend but I let the truck go close to empty so I had to make an emergency full up at a sketchy shell gas station I never go to. I only put 20 bucks in so I could top off with new diesel and stanadyne when the new Injectors go in.

Now is where it gets weird. The next day I remote start my truck at work it ran for prob 5 mins. I come out at here a wierd woodpecker knocking sound from the pass side of the engine bay. I looked around didn't see anything out of the ordinary so I drive home. Truck felt great. Get home pull in the driveway still hear it.

I tried posting a video but this app won't let me it basically starts and stops at idle and sounds like a woodpecker.

im hoping if I picked up some water in the fuel and maybe a combo of having the bad injector is contributing to this noise. Brent seems to think the same.

The truck is also getting a nicktane adapter with a cat 2 micron filter at the same time as injectors this weekend

Any info is greatly appreciated

Post a video when you get a chance but if its an intermittent sound it could be the famous duramax typewriter noise. How loud is the noise?

Wasn't fuel knock injectors don't smoke anymore but the noise is still there. Sounds like a woodpecker. I think I might have narrowed it down to the vaccuum pump. I ran it with out the serpentine and It went away. After I spent 2 grand on a set of sticks 80 bucks doesn't sound so bad. I'll keep you guys posted if it fixes it.
