That's about halfway between Adam (malibu795) and myself. About an hr away from both of us. Lots of very expensive homes in those hills. I'm sure we will be hearing about some movie stars...in the morning.

Cool they just showed the Vandenberg hot shot crew on the news. Only hot shot crew that the Airforce has!

It's been very dry, warm and windy here the last couple of days.

I live in Granada Hills and we had the 2am wake up for voluntary evacuation. Was covered in soot and ash and then we get the 5am mandatory evacuation. We're 4 blocks from the fire. Stayed at the house and rode it out. I now have a black bottom and top pool. Last picture is where the wife and I go walking with the dog every night.

Took the Grandson to Magic mountain today...OPPS!
As we walk out the door GF says "Fire in Simi Valley". I'm not going that far south...we should be OK...I'm thinking.
101 through Santa Barbara, just a little smoke.
Get on the 126 to cut over to the 5. In Fillmore it's a parking lot! Finally get to the 5...and they have the south bound lanes closed...we can see MM just can't get there! We can see the smoke from the fire in Granada Hills. LOTS OF SMOKE! We drive around Santa Clarita for about 30 mins until I find MM parkway and finally get to the park. We're in the park for about 30mins and they anounce that the park is closing in 30 mins...no lines so we make 4 back-to-back runs on one of the water rides...now we are soaking wet! Walk back to the truck and start to drive out. The park is refunding everyone the parking fee...but it takes them, literally 10 mins per car! Took us close to an hour just to get out of the parking lot. Get on the 5 headed north...NO traffic...cool but creepy...4 lanes and no cars! South bound is still being blocked at 126...I'm not going to do that again! Went over the Grapevine and took 166 back to the coast and home.

What a day!

Pure Diesel, Glad to hear you're OK.
