Cut your filter open. Look for bearing material.

I'll bet your crank is thinking it would rather be in 2 pieces......

I know it falls under acceptable but I is this a symptom of these axles or should I start saving for a rebuild kit asap?

Heck I wouldn't really worry about it even if the engine unless your next one was just as bad.

I wouldn't save for anything, pull the cover and take a look. Is the drain plug magnet I can't remember? If so how did it look?

It's time to change it imho. A full syn I'd change it in 40-50k, cheaply stuff I'd change much sooner. Parts wear back there including the ring and pinion and with those miles, it's probably just due to be changed out

I agree, mine was quite chunky when I changed it out. My G80 had a mind of its own, locked when it wanted. I know it was hurt...

I changed it with Schaeffers 75w90 synthetic, it's made with additive packages in it already. I have read several differing opinions on adding additional additives so I'm running it as is. My front diff plug looked like a wizards beard when I serviced it

Did you ever caghange the oil on the diffs before? The front one looks like the original sludge from the factory. The rear one looks fine as far as wear chucks.

If your not towing much I don't really see the point of changing the diffs in under 100k. Not to say yours wasn't due for a change.

I wouldn't worry about the UOA and would wast my $$$ doing another. Does your G80 work or are you a 1 tire frier? If your g80 takes a crap replace it. Most of the time when they fail it isn't catastrophic.
