So the person who changed the headgaskets before i bought my lbz put the driverside one on upside down and i am changing it out with a grade c one. Will it be ok if one side is a grade c and the other is a grade a?

Ideally you would either put the same grade C gaskets on both sides. Or you would measure protrusion and put the proper gasket on each side.

Since you already have a grade A on the other side I would measure protrusion on the side your working on and put the correct one back. Not just throw a C gasket on it. At least that way you know that the side you worked on will be correct.

I thought a grade c was the reccomended and the one everyone ran

The correct way would be get .038 of quench(I think that's what we go for). So you measure piston protrusion and say you have .002 out of the hole. You would want a gasket that's .040

Do you know if the heads were sent out to be checked and cleaned up by a pro machine shop ? If not , you may want to do it correctly this time and know its good forever ! Good luck in what ever you decide !
