Got this turd back on the Dyno, factory ignition coils are pissed and started blowing out the spark.

1165hp on 19psi of boost. Got a set of upgraded coil packs coming and gunna tighten up the gap some, then go for 1400

i would spec to say he just flat out needs more energy. you can only tighten the gap so much! :D

*whistling* That is badass, Bri. What you've built is pretty darn amazing! :thumb:

It happens usually when you get up over 1000HP.

Remember, when they were first designed and put into use, they were not being used with forced induction either in factory applications. :roflmao:

Ya, I’d of never guessed they weren’t designed for that, good thing you chimed in:spit:

I can tighten the gap more but I'm just putting a bandaid on the problem. Aftermarket coils are a penny on the dollar compared to the engine cost and I'm done racing for the summer (never even went) so it's just preventative maintenance to me haha.

The Methanol injection really exaggerated the coil issue, as I have no intercooler now so the meth makes up for it and then some.

I'm just super happy with the power it made Vs the overall boost.id like to see 1500rwhp and then back it off a bit and take it to LS Fest in Vegas in mid June. It will be hot, but it's at night which will help.

Made a lot of progress last night. New coils made a world of a difference, and found the next speedbump. Ended the night at 1360rwhp on 25psi. We start blowing through the converter based off of axle RPM on the dyno. I think it will run very well considering my 155mph 1/4 pass was just north of 1k HP. We will be testing down south next weekend at a No Prep event. Never done this before so backing the power way down and just wanna go have some fun.
