We are currently replacing the glow plug controller on our 2007 classic chevy 3500 ext. cab dually. Was told by the dealer that the controller would have to be re-flashed for it to work.

Is this true?

Can you have someone re-flash only the glow plug controller without having it in the truck?

If so is there anyone around Pittsburgh PA that would be willing to give us a hand?

Thanks, Jared

I haven't heard that a reflash is required when replacing the glowplug controller, I hope not because mine died and I need to replace it....

In an LBZ you need the injector flow rates transferred to the new glow plug module. Has to be done with it installed in the truck so it pulls them from the correct ECM. A Tech II or quality scan tool will be required.

Thanks guys. Is there anyone in the Pittsburgh area that would be able to help us out rather than getting taken at the dealership?

Do they need a re-flash. Have an 05 and I didn't do it when I replaced mine last year.
