Getting back on the horse again

My stupid busy season is finally over and normal work resumes. So I am going blind looking for a truck to replace my LMM. As much as it hurt to let it go, I've since encountered more people getting fined by NJ and it solidified my decision to cut bait and start over.

That said, there's 1 truck that is exactly what I think I want, and it keeps eluding me. 2002 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 CC/SB Black with RPO code FE9. I'm almost to the point of going for an LBZ and just resigning myself to stopping at a tune and built trans - there's a LOT to like in that KISS combo as a reliable DD! The fantasy of a clean-running Lb7 with modest fuel and air, thumbing my nose at the local DEP checkpoints, is a powerful drug though!

I almost broke down and bought a 2024 GAS 6.6, but I think I'd drive it off a bridge after having my LMM since 2008. The new trucks are appliances; no fun and no soul - and too huge, IMHO.

Oh, and WTAF is with the used truck market?! I thought this would have stopped by now! 400k on an 02 for $20k - GTFO!

There's a white 02 near James but it's a long bed :( I'm tempted to buy it anyway and drop off a bottle of scotch at his door on the drive home, hahaha.

Best,
Wally

Not great but it's a start and meets the Black 4x4 CCSB with Fed emissions. The couple of others I saw were 2WD.

It’s super tough to check all the boxes. Lol. If that truck was near me, I’d buy it just to have while I keep looking. I’m dailying between my 64 Chevy and KTM at the moment. Killin me.

I hate how big the new trucks are but decided if I ever let my LMM go it'll be for a 2024 L5P, I love the new AT4s and those new interiors have sold me. I can't stand the 17-23 interior.

LB7s are getting old man, 20+ years. Couldn't imagine paying 20k for a truck that has injectors under the valve cover.

After work I had to do a minor repair on the 64 and the Ktm needed a new brake switch and air filter. I’m starting to lean toward a 2024 myself, to limit what I have to fix. Lol

I would get the 24. I’m considering trading my LLY for one.

Would love to find a 06-07 GMC CC/SB LBZ. Dream truck for me, even moreso than BBT. Good luck finding yours, Wally.

I feel your pain. My LMM has all the work done to be super reliable. Just turned 200K on it and hold it back mostly for trips. I usually get it out once a week to take to work just to keep things in good working order. Could not think of ever selling it. Super clean, no rust (had both rear quarters replaced by GM) and runs great. If it is not my last truck it will be my last diesel. The feds have choked off the diesels these days to the point of to much reliability issues for my liking. I have to agree, the new trucks just seem to get bigger and bigger. Dean

I have my dream truck already. That's why I'm dumping a shit ton of money into it, lol.

And I'd be happy and have kept mine forever too, but I can't leave my State... and staying with your truck or my old one would be a huge risk. We finally won NJ CCW, so at least there's a little good to help wipe my tears. LOL.

Boy those 2024 interiors are nice... :FML
