Info: Getting a Vehicle from Canada to USA

Hey guys,

Who all has imported a vehicle to the US from Canada? If so what all is there to be aware of that this site doesn't cover? Is using a broker the best bet? What should i be expecting to pay to get it to North America Etc...Any input or insight on this would be great. :thumb:

Contact American Customs or google it. I've brought many US vehicles into Canada and I've drove them all home and it was easy peasy.

bill of sale, title, letter of compliance from manufacture. basically letter state at time of build the vehicle meet both canadian and american safety/emissions laws. then its up too the boarder that you cross how far(if at all) they will look at the vehicle.

this is what US customs told me 4 months ago.

with the dollar the way it is I am surprised more of these trucks haven't crossed the line yet

Apparently this is big business right now. Guys are scooping up all the used stuff and shipping to the states. I've brought a few vehicles up but never sent them down.

Maybe have the Canadian owner drive it to you in the USA and then fly him home ??

Got to be a better option then shipping it ?

ive been finding out alot of them DO NOT want to drive it over the boarder.

If we drive them across it's considered a commercial sale, which includes a lot of paperwork and tax issues for a private sale.
