well I finally broke down and got me a winter beater. My 96 Grand AM GT was not cutting it anymore and I figured I could haul the big Dmax to Silver Lake with this one. Oh and of course it's another LLY ;)

My question is anyone know of any places that have take off dually wheels I am wanting to switch over to the NNBS style GMC dually simulators and I believe those wheels are 17"...? I would be looking for the wheels, center caps, and simulators. Any info would be great.

The after market wheels this dually has will not allow me to rotate the tires front to back. I have never owned a dually but I assume they get rotated the same way back to the front and front to the inside back I would guess.

As far a rotating yes you'll have to mount and dissmount with aftermarket wheels.I have to do it myself.

Normally you bring the inside rear up front ,outside rear goes inside rear and front go to outside rear. These means you have to strip them all and rebalance. Your only other option is to buy two new steers and have lots of spares.

Ok so if I understand you correctly I need to go with a factory steel wheel to be able to rotate correctly. Thanks for the info on how to rotate them. The tires on there now are 315/75/R16 the 4 rear tires are 50% tread the passanger front is 75% and the driver front appears there is something not right in the front end alignment or balljoints. It is worn and cupped will need replaced.

Getting it on the hoist today to see what all it needs. As far as the wheels go they are 16" I assume they are 6 wide. The chrome is all around poor condition. More so the 2 rear wheels for some reason. Pitted and flaking. If the NNBS dually wheels are 17" I will be looking to sell the tires with the wheels but would most definately split them up.

I thought about powder coating them black and just stripping the chrome off them. That would still mean I could not rotate them correctly and that drives me nuts! I am not really sure what those wheels would be worth to someone in the condition they are in. The center caps are rusty as well. If you guys want I will get some pics of the wheels posted up. you can PM me offers if you still want them.

Would a wheel like this be able to be rotated front to back without dismounting the tire? Or are the steel wheels with simulators the only way to be able to rotate without dismount?

In most cases that I'm aware of ,I could be wrong but doubt it, that all aftermarket wheels with the exception of big rig 19.5" or 22.5" and 24" I believe you wont be able to rotate front to back with out dissmounting and remounting. So unless you want to spend the big bucks on the Big Rim wheels and adapters your stuck with the factory steel ones.

Most people including the Big Rig wheels run steel in the back inside.

As far as the rims you have they look good from afar but if they are as bad as you say I'm out. Thanks for the info

If the 07.5 and newer simulators and caps will fit those I would be a buyer 3 I have 2 steels on the rear behind the after market wheels and 1 spare that I plan to dismount as it is to small to use with the 35's anyway.

Here are close up of the front and the rear. The fronts would probably polish up decent the rears are pitted and the centercaps are rusted.

what do you guys think of getting steel wheel's and painting them black then using the new GMC center caps on them like the truck in this pic?

I think they would look sharp, would be easy to maintain, and they would be able to be rotated this way.

Howie can you tell me if those are the 4 hole 16" steel wheel or are those the 17" steel wheel with 5 holes?

Would the newer GMC center caps from the 17" wheels fit the 16" wheels I would assume they would since they are still 8 on 6.5 for the 2008-2010 center caps. I was thinking I would use the newer 2008-2010 center caps with the steel wheels you have then I would be able to re use my tires I have now so I dont have to buy new ones.

Did you look at the pics I posted of the alum aftermarket wheels I have now? Would you want those? Maybe we can work out a trade for my wheels for your wheels let me know. Thanks!

Here is centercaps on ebay I was thinking of using with the 16" wheels you have but they are for the 2008-2010 17" wheels just want to be sure they will work on 16" wheels.
