driveshaft hoop ?

so i am building a driveshaft hoop and i need some ideas or some pics of maybe somebodys set up. any info or pics would be great. thanx

i know it aint a driveshaft hoop, but something similar that bolts to the frame would work. those uj shields looks pretty hefty..... :D

yeah that is an ok one for the front i am workin on the back and i believe everyone drills into the rear pumpkin i just am not sure where to do it to attach the hoop was hopin someone had a better idear than drillin into pumpkin i have a bad ass six in a half inch aluminum billet driveshaft and dont want to hide it to much.

Mine is a u joint shield, but here is what I made. I have seen people weld them directly to the housing on the top and the bottom but I wanted to be able to take it off if I needed or wanted so I drilled and bolted it to the gussets on both sides and also made it so I could take it out without having to drop the drive shaft. :)

I can take credit for finding the 3/8" alum. but not for the welds.
I got real lucky and found that alum. pipe in the scrap yard. It is 9" i.d. and worked-out perfectly!
I wish I could find some more of it........lot's of other puller/racers wanting some.
I just recently put the last piece I had on the front of the rear shaft as a loop/scatter shield.

I believe that is a "fix" for "frame distortion"

Search that and it will bring up a healthy thread on frame distortion from the guys who sled pull
