just wondering because i know a couple people that just have mechanical 60 psi boost gauges. is electric going to be more accurate or what?

i have heard boost gauges will fail after a while.... and if you have a mechanical gauge then you will have to dissipate heat before it gets to the gauge and there is the chance the tube could fill with soot

If your looking to not make it permanent I would highly recommend using a 100psi boost gauge from auto meter inexpensive and easy to use. You dont need to worry about disapating heat if you use a enough copper tubing as your boost line. We usually just tap into the exhaust manifold on the drivers side. If you dont want to run it into the cap just zip tie it down to your wiper arm and go do your testing. pretty easy to do and test. If you need the gauge or line let us know we have it on hand.

On mine, since ill have it in pieces, could i just tap the pedestal spacer block?? Id probably make it permanent as i am always doing new things to it.

I didn't use any copper/aluminum tubing. I tapped it off the exhaust mani with braided line thats about 50" long, ran a loop and then to the firewall and the sensor. No issues, in 1500 miles and 1300* EGTS.

I used an electric guage.
