Which gun are you using? I used the cheap 30 dollar one and it did ok. My hvlp didn't work to good with 2.2 tip. I'll probably buy the 80 dollar gun that has better reviews. Just currious on your technique.
I had a 2001 8.1 ran good with tune, exhaust and filter popped on tube.
Mine burned oil also they replaced the intake seals and new updated bolts no more issues with oil.

It is. Going to shoot the flares and bumpers today. Need to finish covering up that old color. Hopefully the rain holds off here.

Yep. I've seen that one many times. Iron heads with 203 cam. Love the way it sounds. I'm trying to figure out the best money for the bang right now.
That's honestly where I was with my 04 when I bought my current LBZ. I was gonna do the top end raylar stuff or supercharge it. It was cheaper in 2007 to buy a brand new LBZ than to stick that kinda money into the 8.1. Hard to believe but you could buy a fully loaded Diesel in 07 for under 43k....now they're 60+K...talk about inflation. Glad I bought the LBZ, but I wish I would've held on to that 04 at the same time, they are very hard to come by.
Yep. I've seen a couple of 06s over the years but not many. And not in the greatest of shape lol. Really thinking about a cam swap and ported intake for now. The headers and tune are for sure.
Long tubes are worth the money, shorties are no better than manifolds...
