Dash and CTS shutdown?

I have had a problem that is intermittently occurring. While driving my CTS 2 will shut off or freeze. My dash will do the same and then the idiot light come on. If I turn off the truck and restart the condition"fixes itself". There are no codes. What should I be looking for. Truck specs in signature.

If the truck has a radio adapter for the buttons/dinger for a aftermarket radio unplug that pos and try that. I had one do exactly as described, could also be another accessory messing with traffic on the data bus. Took me forever to figure out on a customers truck
