Has anyone had Dans Diesel Performance out of Marengo/Machesney Park, IL do their Allison performance build?

My family lives 15 minutes from them, great price, good install rates, military discount and uses quality parts from what I can see.

Good warranty, and supports 800rwhp without building a crazy expensive billet trans. (Plan is for 600-650 rwhp, still a DD).

Any thoughts?

He's been building them for several years. I haven't heard of anyone of them to fail yet.

Over 8 years we've been building Allisons using the best parts and techniques in the industry. Let us know if we can help. We have a special going on till the end of the month on our builds installed.

Thanks Dan... Ive called the shop, and was setting something up. I'm the military guy driving up from Florida. Hope we can get it taken care of when I'm there.

Might have you guys install the pyro for the Edge CTS2, and Fass 150 with sump as well.

I'll be shooting you an email to get everything set up, and a quote on the work once I get the vacation time approved.

Not with an LML unless you want to shatter it.

Mike Tuning the TCM on the LMLs is one of the best things you can do. I don't change shift timing or raise line pressure that will cause damage, but raising torque limits, shift points, converter lockup strategy and a couple other minor things improves the driving experience and gives the truck better response and top end performance.

What you are talking about is fine. It's the guys that want to control line pressure that worry me.

We don't have line pressure control in EFILive yet and the trucks that have had line pressure tuning I haven't been impressed with. They act and shift weird. I find the best quality shifts with come from putting a dummy solenoid in or the PRX kit.

Just had Dan finish the trans install on Friday and put about 850 miles on it driving to MI from IL for the wedding.

Everything has been great. Had a couple questions in regards to lock up and some other stuff, and Dan was very courteous and walked me through how the trans acts in different and why certain things were happening.

As long as you don't use both together.

Just curious. Why is trans pan off with trans in?

they built trans with a "stock" deep allison pan. I have a PPE deep trans pan, so they were switching the pans

Never seen a red denali, was truck repainted?

Original owner wanted a red Denali, but they didnt make them. Ordered a red SLT, and then had the dealership do every Denali appearance part. I dont have the super expensive stuff in the truck though. (no rear sliding window, no sunroof, no navigation/back up camera, etc)
