ok maybe im missing something very obvious here, but i started the headgasket job on my truck a few months ago and then life kinda got in the way (getting married and things of that nature).

so during the dis-assembly i broke the two bolts that hold the coolant bypass tube to the water pump housing and then the bypass tube itself got crushed by a tractor weight (the downfall of sharing a garage with tractors).

so now with new parts in hand im ready to reassemble my truck.....finally. but when i try and line up the bypass hose with the water pump housing they dont seem to fit. almost like theres a spacer in there that im forgetting about.
any help would be greatly appreciated, getting kinda sick of driving my wife's tacoma to work lol

I'm thinking its probably the tube (its a doorman part) does anyone have the ability to find a gm part number for me? I'm mobile at the moment and its hard to look things like that up on this phone.
