How do people have them set. I need to soften then i believe but am not sure which way to go. Do they make the rear feel extremely stiff running empty? mine feels like a brick.

I only run the pre-load bolts at the track. The rest of the time my Cal-tracks are just for looks...

Rides like chit with them in!

i have my bolts in all the time, but leave them about 1/4-3/8" above the spring pack. i can only hear them hit when i go over speed bumps.

mantua, oh
yes the suspension is ungodly stiff if you drive with them loaded i lengthened mine so i could crank them way out so they never touch when driven on road not to mention i altered their design to make them quicker to adjust at the track

I run mine just touching the spring + about 1/4 turn preload, but i only have 3 spring in my truck so the ride isnt bad at all!!

if you back them off far enough not to hit the truck will ride like they are not installed but usually with the bars they provide you cant get far enough to keep them from hittin when you hit a bump or when you have a lil weight in your truck. if you have all the springs and these are touchin its like a brick on wheels

Cal-Tracs, for what they are, are extremely simple and effective. Like 05 LLY said, I've found that just touching plus about 1/4 turn works best at the track. Just back 'em of completely when running around empty.
