Thanks Tim. I think we should be ok I had far worse winters when I lived in northern Ohio in the 70's as a kid
A little rain good for the grass. The problem out here is the people do not know how to drive when it is wet out. Add a little snow to the mix and you can not drive unless you have chains on a car even a 4x4 needs chains ??. The news has nothing else to take about. May be Tiger Woods should come out today the NEWS people will not mess with him , the rain is more important.

Feels like im back up in Or. People around here are not used to this much water for sure. Most city's are finding out that their storm drains are pluged with crap, since we have not had rains like this for years. Around here our yearly total of rain is around 4", they are calling for 7-9" this week alone. Funny note: My 5yr old daughter asked me today "Daddy, I wonder what it feels like to be a rain drop. I bet it hurts falling all that way from the clouds and splating on the street".

I remember my Dad having me go thru a window to go shovel the snow away from the front door, Back in NY. The snow would be 2 feet or more. I don't think I can find chains to fit my tires. So I can not go play in the snow, No BIG BEAR Snow Board Trip for me. Thanks CHP.

You only need chains in a 4x4 if your tires are not A/T Mud or M&S! Mud tires an d A/T's are good as long as you have a min of 6/32 of tread. If a 4x4 is in tow, it must have chains no matter what tire. If it's that bad, the road is most likely shut down. It is a good idea to carry a set, just incase you get snowed in though.

Nope, 4x4 must carry chains no matter what, but do not have to install unless level 3 road conditions, which means in so cal pretty much closed completely. I have been asked to show my chains to the CHP. Problem with so cal is really the drivers. I was plowing snow at 12 years old in Ohio. Out here nobody sees snow then everyone want to get there immediately. No snow tires , and no brains. Other problem is these storms dump so fast they cannot clear the raods and with the winds they drift pretty bad on the way to Big Bear. I will be patrolling this weekend in Big Bear . skiing should be awesome.:happy2:

Depending on the severity of road conditions, some vehicles (passenger cars, 4-wheel drive vehicles with snow tires) may not be required to install chains at that point. The exceptions will be posted on the sign."
Then they say
"If I have 4-wheel-drive, do I need to carry chains?
Even though weather conditions may not warrant the use of chains on 4-wheel-drive vehicles at a particular time, to enter a chain control area, you must have a set of chains (for one drive axle) for your vehicle in your possession. If conditions worsen or you have trouble controlling your vehicle, you must stop and install the chains."

This is some nasty weather, yesterday, for the first time in my life, we had to go on lockdown for a tornado, and it turns out the tornado passed within less than a half mile of my school.
Were in Kansas TOTO Thats HOT !!
Ya work sucks in tha rain and there are way too many jackass on the highway.
Nasty here in Vegas too, pretty much been raining for the last three days.

I kinda like the challenge, But people going 5 mph just cause accidents.
