Looking for advice on what to do.. 67 C10 pickup with some front frame damage. Someone poorly welded in a patch plate and called it good. Frame seems to be fairly straight from eyeballing it but I have no idea for sure or how to measure to be sure. I think I can cut out that hackjob and weld in a new plate and go from there. The front cross member has slight damage right below the forward most mounting bolts. I think it's minor enough to weld it up and move on. Without knowing if the frame is straight there its like pissing in the wind but I really don't want to find a new frame so I'd like to repair this one. I appreciate any opinions/insight.

A tape measure will show if it’s salvageable. Salvageable is very opinionated. Quick and dirty, diagonal will show where the bad starts.

Call around and find a good frame shop.

I found a factory drawing of frame measurements on the google machine so I can start finding the affected area. It's salvageable imo, just might need some TLC.

It's getting a 6.0/4l80e single turbo. I built the 12 bolt, shortened it, new housing ends, welded tubes, etc. 4/6 drop, tubular trailing arms, c-notch, definitely boxing the frame and bracing it. Going to be street legal but it's going to be at the track a lot. Goal is 600hp..for now.
