I started with a set of TTS lift pumps when the truck was new in 2007, and they lasted 2 years before getting corroded and dying. Replaced with a set of Kennedy pumps in 2009 and they have been going strong ever since. I do have an after market 2 micron fuel filter in line after the lift pumps and I also run a pressure gauge so I can tell if they are working. You can't hear them or at least I can't, but I can't hear much anyway most of all women.:roflmao:

Figured I'd follow up on this,

Replaced the first pump with the new motor/ impeller set, was easy like expected. I was surprised to see the old impeller in almost new condition after 8yrs and 70k+ miles, considering what a couple of you were saying previously.

I've always used Donaldson filters. All Cat filters are made by AFSI filters which is owned by Cat/Donaldson. I can always get Donaldson filters cheaper so I run them. Most of them are 2 micron absolute

Which filters? I got b*tched out yesterday on FB when I tried to claim the CAT filters were 2um absolute. Did a little checking, and the 1R-0751 that I have used in the past is 4um absolute. Our CAT rep at work told me it was 2um so I didn't question it (they are a big engine supplier for us).

first off, that link is from 2007. not really relevant. CAT changed filter ratings a while back on the 1r-0751 to the 4 micron absolute rating from the 2 micron. they introduced the 364-5287 which is a 2 micron absolute. thats what im running now.

Honestly, its a mute point as an absolute filter will out filter a nominal filter of the same rating any day of the week. air dog filters were changed to 4 micron (even though everyone says they are still 2 micron) but they are nominal. even at 2 micron nominal vs the cat 4 micron, the cat filter is doing a way better job.

and f**k facebook. those morons will argue over a f**king spoon and say its a fork. You argue with an idiot, they bring you down to their level then beat your ass with experience.

That’s how I feel about the Cat filter also.

Lots of dummies on DF that love to argue about how they’re shit and Napa gold is better. Idiots.
