Best upgrades for longevity

I’ve seen a lot of issues with the refresh 2024 trucks. Have roughly 2500 miles on my truck now and nothing to complain about. It rides great. More room then I can shake a stick at and tows everything I throw at it. I’m looking to see what I can do to make the truck the most reliable it can be. It’s a 2024 2500hd pro crew cab.

I already use opti-lube which I’ve been using for years in my tractor and gensets. What else can I change to help it out. I will send a sample of oil out at 3k to have it analyzed. I’m already looking into a catch can as well as the ccv kit. I don’t really want to void the warranty but if someday a full emission delete is a viable option I may go that route. I know the egr need to go but that can wait. Thanks everyone

The Fass EGR filter kit looks promising for helping with longevity. Don’t idle for long periods of time; it’s the silent killer of all the new diesels. Trucks, semis, trackhoes…doesn’t matter.

The EGR kits are nice. We have done a few of them. No complaints yet. The fass drop in also fits well.

The edge EZ does make a noticeable power difference. Mine will throw throttle codes and CEL every once in a while. Only after running a few min on cold remote starts. I haven’t tried any updates or checked pin tension yet..

That’s good to know. Did you do full egr delete? On the l5p gen2? The edge is only the screen no tunes. I hate idiot gages and wanted real numbers especially EGT when towing

If the L5P is just like the the older trucks you going to have really high copper for up to 30kmiles due to the oil cooler.

Cognito Braces to help the frontend last.

I’m not a fan of catch cans. The oil vapor and moisture in the PCV will help clean the intake if you can do something about the EGR putting soot in the intake.
