I recently blew up my stock turbo. It only had 85k on it. I put in a 63.5 mm wheel and cove and after I had surge issues which I think led to bearing failure and it bending the shaft. So anyway I have a new 64 mm turbo and want a bov to stop the surge when backing off the throttle fast.
I put together my own kit similar to the be diesel turboguard. I have a tial q bov, bd diesel controller that used throttle signal. And a Mac solenoid to vent the pressure from the bov when activated. I have verified the solenoid is all plumed properly and works. My issue is I cannot hear the valve open (release of air). I don't care about having a cool sound but assumed I would hear it to know it works.
I have only tried with 15-20 psi trying not to make it surge if it doesn't work out. There is no vacuum helping it open like a gas car so I'm thinking Maby it only opens a very little? I ordered the one with the 2psi spring so that should be correct. Any one that has one are you able to hear it?
