When do you plan on building with the g4s ? Let me know how you stack em and if you end up needing to thin the apply plate to get all the steels they come with, I don’t see in their instructions where it says to thin out the plates but I don’t know the first thing about rebuilding transmissions I’ll be pissed if my rebuilder doesn’t use all the plates or worse uses them without proper clearance
The C3 power pack instructions won't tell you to cut the plate because they already include one. Because of the price Alto charges for the C3 pack is was just buying two C4 packs and getting plates cut on my own. The solid steel kolenes only come in .086 and .098 in the "kits". If you don't trust your guy then I'd find someone else

It’s mandatory to use different thickness steels to set clearances, that’s simply how rebuilding a transmission works.

That’s why alto sends extra steels in the pack in differing thicknesses.

My G4 power packs came in today for C1, C2, C3, & C4.

Tomorrow I’ll grab some G3 C1 plates and put them side by side as well as seeing perceived hardness and friction with my hands. Scientific? Nah, but at least relative.

They seem to hold up well at lower HP but do not seem to hold big power well. I have a set here if you'd like to give them a shot (C1/C2/C3/C4).

I have a set of them. Just debating which ones I want to throw in my compound L5P.
