Both an S472 and twins can reach get you to this power level. But besides spool up time are twins really so much better? Safer for the engine or what?

I really don't care about MPG or spool up time (as long as I have enough power to drive around with) Pleny of you have twins but I don't think many of ya have a 72 as a single... If you do I'd really like to hear how you like this for a DD

I don't mind alittle smoke, I think I can jsut downshift it gets too bad anyway. What else is done to yours injectors? and what? or is spooling fine with a stock fueling system

I'm also getting ready to get a S472. My first thought was an S475 but I was worried about lag. My tuner says he can raise my shift points a little and the S472 will spool fine. With my stock turbo I peg my 1600* pyro quick on a max effort tune. Anybody know what I can expect to see at the end of the 1/4 with the S472 ?

converter plays a role in spool up too

I'd be interested in the bold question too. Are you planning on goin with this while you have your stokc fuel system? I am.

Yes, stock fuel system. If anything I'll do injectors but just to help with safer tuning. Also converters were mentioned, It looks like mine may not be the best for spooling a large turbo. I'm hoping maybe good tune will help it lite, but I really dont mind some lag, I run an economy tune most of the time for my dd tune and its sluggish.

Well i know steve on here has a s472 with a A/r .90 and that thing hardly has any lag. Hes run a mid 12 and 620 somthin in hp on a weak cp3. Only reason i went with twins was for towing and being on 37 with stock gears.

Egts would depend on fueling level.

If you where to say run 3200pw with stock inj. I would guess around 1400-1500

I ran 40 overs with a 2400 pw and they where 18-2000 with a 475

Nothing will be better for gets than twins but I wouldn't hesitate DD a big single

I had a S472 and took it off real quick for towing reasons. It was crap to tow with. As a DD turbo I didnt think it was very fun except for wide open then it was a lot of fun. 1.0 a/r with a 1057 converter.

I was daily driving with a stock fuel system and an s480 with a 1.01 a/r turbine housing. Not bad for daily driving except for copious amounts of smoke. Rather laggy as well, but i am used to tradeoffs. With a 3200 pulse width on stock sticks I could manage about 1400 degrees unloaded, but if the engine was lugged it would skyrocket pretty fast. I would say if you are not gonna tow with your truck I wouldn't be afraid to run a big single as a daily driver...but if you will ever need to tow I would steer clear.

Those are some good temps on a full throttle run, also you guys mention that the S472 would'nt be good for towing. I tow a 4000 lb. welding rig a few times a week normally only a few miles to do a job, I'm hoping with a trans tune this wont be a problem. Also I have a fifth wheel camper that weighs 10,000 lbs that I only tow 2-3 times a year. I'm pretty sure I'll be fine with the 4-5 k loads and I really would hate to down size my turbo plans just to tow my 5th wheel a few times a year.

You should be able to get away with that...
